The Alumni Association is a new program launched by SSA. The purpose of this program is to guide current students toward their goals and allow them to establish meaningful connections with alumni. Below are some of our featured alumni.

Kamaljeet Singh-Khaira
M.S., graduated from UC Davis in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in exercise physiology and a minor in nutrition. She earned her Master's Degree in community and regional development in 2012. In June of 2012, she was recognized for her passion for working towards the goal of a healthy and just society for the younger generations.
Ravinder S. Khaira
M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P, graduated from UC Davis in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences. He was also a founding member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity chapter at Davis. After graduating, he attended St. George's University School of Medicine and went on to complete his clinical cores at the Yale and Cornell Medical Centers. Dr. Khaira completed his post-doctoral training in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital at Loma Linda University Medical Center and he holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
Jasdeep Kaur Hothi
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science, Minor in Cultural Anthropology
Jasdeep graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently a law school student. She has also been interning at a public defender’s office. During her time at UC Davis, she was involved in UCD Giddha. Her advice to current students is “be the change you want to see”!
Simarjyot Singh
Bachelors in Anthropology
Simarjyot graduated from UC Davis in 2022 and is now a director at the Sikh Assembly of America. He has also worked in Washington DC in the government sector and is currently pursuing a masters in government and a certificate in intelligence at John Hopkins University. During his time as Davis, he was involved in SSA and his advice is to “make connections with professors” as they would help in the long run.

Jasmeet Saroya
B.S. in Biopsychology
Jasmeet graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently in his third year of medical school. He has received a scholarship and during his time at Davis, he was involved in SSA, research, and clinica tepati.

Jaspreet Khunkhun
Bachelors in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior
Jaspreet graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently a PA student. Her experience includes being an emergency medical scribe, PT aide, and emergency medicine research associate. She has also been involved in Seva Selfless Service and Sacramento Street Medicine. During her time at Davis, she was a part of BPSHI, EMRAP, the Pre-PA club, and SSA. Her advice to current students is, “Always stay positive and believe in yourself. You've worked so hard for so many years to get to this point. You will face many obstacles on the way but don't let that hold you back from achieving what you're really capable of.”

Jairaj Sandhu
B.S. in Managerial Economics (emphasis on Agricultural and Environmental Resources) and a minor in Nutrition Sciences
Jairaj graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently a legal intern at Mirantis. She is also participating in the Consumer Law Clinic and is a JD/MBA candidate at Santa Clara University. When she was in Davis, Jairaj was a part of Jakara, Davis Women in Business, SCA, and BPSHI. Her advice to current students is to always ask for help!

Jasmine Rattanpal
B.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Minor in India and South Asian Studies
Jasmine graduated in 2022 from UC Davis and is currently a Master’s student in chemistry. She has worked as a chemist in an environmental consulting lab and is also involved in nuclear waste disposal research. At her time at UC Davis, Jasmine was a part of research, served as SCA/SSA president, and was also a learning assistant for general chemistry. Her advice is, “Don't focus so much on bad grades; try to go to office hours, tutoring, study groups etc. However, don't fret over a bad grade on your transcript, it all works out eventually.”

Gurmun Singh
B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, Masters in Medical Health Sciences
Gurmun graduated in 2020 from UC Davis and is currently a second year medical student. He is also involved in student leadership at medical school. During Gurmun’s time at UCD, he was on the board for SCA/SSA and BPSHI. His advice is, “Make sure to be kind to yourself through this journey of school, life, etc.”

Jaskiran Kaur
B.S. in Biological Psychology, Doctor of Optometry
Jaskiran graduated from UC Davis in 2016 and is currently working as an optometrist. She is also a published author of clinical optometry articles and a host of the Dry Eye Academy, an event that allows doctor to doctor education about the latest innovations in the field of Dry Eye.
Arjan Singh Heer
B.S. in Managerial Economics
Arjan graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently working as a project manager. He has also been working in a diversified family investment portfolio that includes agriculture, real estate, and natural resources. Arjan is also involved in initiatives for new technology and management strategies for groundwater resources. During his time at Davis, he was involved in SCA/SSA, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, College of Agriculture Field Day Committee, and he also worked as a teaching assistant. His advice is, “Guruji’s pyaar and hukam is above all else, use it every day to do good in this world.”

Milan Shergill
B.S. in Biological Sciences
Milan graduated from UC Davis in 2021 and is currently a second year dental student. He participates in community outreach to dental clinics through the dental school he attends. During his time at Davis, Milan was a part of SCA/SSA, Jakara Movement, BPSHI, Shifa, Pre Dental Society, and he also interned at the Communicare Health Center. His advice is to, “Put yourself out there in college and join clubs/seek experiences that will widen your perspective and world view. College is a special time and you can learn a lot outside of the classroom.”

Amardeep Cheema

Amardeep graduated in 2021 from UC Davis and is currently a law student. He is also a secretary for a non-profit outreach program called Hoops for Life. During his time at Davis, he served as the event coordinator for SSA.

Manpreet Batth
Bachelors in Psychology with a Biological Emphasis
Manpreet graduated from UC Davis in 2020 and is currently a graduate student. He has attended Touro University and is also a part of the UC Davis Postbac program. He is also working on a research project and has just finished a research paper that is looking to be published soon. During his time at Davis, Manpreet was a part of BPSHI, GMT, and Sac Street Med.

Harkamal graduated from UC Davis in 2023 and is currently in the process of applying to jobs. He has interned as a technology consultant at Launch Consulting.
Manisha Singh
B.S. in Biological Sciences, Minor in South Asia Studies
Manisha graduated from UC Davis in 2022 and is currently working as a QC Analyst. She worked in retail all throughout college and is now pursuing a Master of Public Health degree while working her current job. During her time at Davis, she was on the staff for West Coast Bhangra. Her advice is, “It is definitely alright for you to take a quarter exploring different types of classes outside of your major. You will still graduate on time, and who knows, maybe you’ll find something that you genuinely love learning about.”
